Programming and Tuning Massively Parallel Systems (PUMPS) Summer School

The Programming and Tuning Massively Parallel Systems Summer School (PUMPS) is aimed at enriching the skills of researchers, graduate students and teachers with cutting-edge technique and hands-on experience in developing applications for many-core processors with massively parallel computing resources like GPU accelerators.

  • Location: Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Computer Architecture Dept. at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain
  • When: July 11-22, 2011
The summer school is organized into two main tracks according to the attendees' knowledge, expertise and interest levels:
  • Tracks:
    • Beginners Track: The Beginners Track starts off with introductory lectures to multiprocessor programming and CUDA, covering topics such as the CUDA threading model and CUDA memory model.
    • Advanced Track: The Advanced Track continues the topics from the Beginner's track and focuses on optimizations and tuning of scientific and engineering applications; CUDA Performance Considerations; Debugging and Profiling CUDA Code; CUDA Algorithm Patterns, etc.
    • Separated hands-on lab sessions will be arranged for both tracks, adjusting the examples to the level of knowledge of each group.
